Is this a bad idea?

So I've been on the hunt for a cardigan or shrug or something to go over my dress as it gets later in the night and maybe colder (?  I hardly ever get cold, so it may be a moot point).  I came across this vintage (or probably better described "old") jacket/cardigan from 1950.  Is this a bad idea?  The measurements do fit me.

I do think it's cool and would probably wear it open.  Thoughts?
